It's almost like gameplay is the most important aspect of a video game and that Octopath succeeds in that aspect compared to most other popular JRPGs. Discovery, Titans doesn't have any more room for "bad writing" mistakes.Xbob42 の投稿を引用:"They made the story unbelievably boring and the characters shallow garbage on purpose! So you can enjoy the battles more!" Only with the new climate at Warner Bros. Most importantly, fans connect to these characters and their stories. The costumes and effects are spectacular, even more so considering TV budget limitations. Titans is a delightful series defying the odds since its debut in 2018. And, even when the story doesn't all-the-way make sense, Titans is always entertaining. Still, even with these final episode fumbles, it's still one of the better versions of The Red Hood story. This then goes even further off the rails with Dick acting out of character and ultimately ending up dead. Then the very public superhero group would "pay bail" and "work from the shadows." Even though Barbara Gordon is the new Commissioner, neither of them seemed to remember that in order to charge them with a crime, Dick would have to reveal his secret identity. Starfire's new powers and her resistance to this so-called destiny are, at best, unexplored.ĭick Grayson suggests all the Titans turn themselves into Gotham PD while in costume. Raven, now powerless, and Starfire, unfamiliar with her "new" powers, can do nothing to stop them. Then, immediately after stopping her from killing Sebastian, Mother Mayhem just shows up and captures him. In the magical Elko Diner, newcomer Zadira talks about predestination. Starfire's new "destiny" this season is one of those arcs causing worry. He dismisses it as just a fairy story despite all the clear evidence of magic around him. That's good TV, right there.Įarlier in the season, there's a moment where Dick looks at a children's book with eerily accurate depictions of the Titans killed in horrible ways. There is character development and tension, including a side story between Raven and her demonic half-sibling. The Titans make a plan, execute it and it works. However, in the context of Kryptonians, magic and superheroes, it's a pretty straightforward story that fits within the (loose) logic of this world. In print, that sounds like an atrociously silly plotline. To save him, Beast Boy shapeshifts into a virus that has to kill the infection before he rematerializes back into a human. Now midway through Titans' fourth season, Superboy is infected with a magical snake that can kill him. Season 4, thus far, may be the year that breaks that pattern. In Season 3, the latter third of the season was marred by needless escalation and illogical character choices. It then took another full season for fan-favorite Dick Grayson's alter-ego Nightwing to appear in costume. The first season's finale was abandoned, ending on the penultimate episode's cliffhanger. While the streaming service did not survive, the shows not already canceled at the time (RIP Swamp Thing) made the jump to HBO Max. Titans began life as the first original series for the nascent DC Universe streaming service, which launched as parent company Time Warner became WarnerMedia. Discovery out for blood, does this show have what it takes to survive its second Warner Bros. No, the greatest enemy facing Titans is the writing and storytelling choices of the past. The biggest threat to DC's first adult superhero show, currently on HBO Max, is not Brother Blood, Mother Mayhem or Lex Luthor. The following contains spoilers for Titans Season 4, Episode 5, "Inside Man," streaming now on HBO Max.
